Insecure Chart

Insecure Chart - What's it called when you unenthusiastically do something that you have reservations about. Insecure people have little confidence and are uncertain about their own abilities or if other people really like them: 1 from you description, i would go with insecure. I was always taught to use 'yours faithfully' in letters when addressing someone i didn't know, and 'yours sincerely' for people i did. I wonder what it was about her upbringing. From some comments in the answers for common english usage mistakes (now deleted, 10k only), there's confusion around the usage of i vs. What is the word for something that you have to do (mainly because someone is expecting you to do), even though you don't want to do it, but you still do it. I´m looking for an expression, preferably a single word, that describes a person who is desperate for approval/affirmation/love, and who. I don't really care whether i read/write insecure or unsecure, but clearly 'standard' usage is overwhelmingly insecure. As in someone who is insecure of themselves, will act for the crowd, whereas a secure person is confident in who they are, and not swayed.
